Job Description
Allied Health Assistant
Allied Health Assistants provide therapeutic and program related support activities to Allied Health Professionals (AHP) across allied services including Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology and Social Support services.
As an allied health assistant your role will be varied. In this role, you can expect to undertake tasks like:
• Working under the direction of Allied Health Professionals to implement therapy treatment plans
• Monitoring and reporting changes
• Providing administrative support
• Compiling patient histories
• Coordinating health programs
• Assisting with overall client care
To be an allied health assistant you will need:
• Active listening and communication skills
• Effective time management skills
• Ability to follow direction but also show initiative
• Administration and attention to detail
• Critical thinking skills
• Monitoring and social perceptiveness
All candidates will need to have the following:
• Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance (HLT33015) or higher-level qualification.
• Hold a current minimum Level 2 First Aid Certificate
• Have a recent Police Check or be willing to get one
• A current Australian Drivers Licence
• Australian working rights
• Competent with various window-based software programs and computer skills.
• Covid 19 certificate along with flu vaccination certificate.
